POFP Annual Luncheon

The past three months have been very difficult; COVID-19 has caused interruption of our daily lives.  This affects all of us in different ways.  To some, being quarantined is inconvenient; to others it’s an annoying, manageable problem. But to some, it’s a lonely time of isolation from family and friends. Those confined to a care facility do not see anyone, except critical care nurses and other medical personnel. Families and friends cannot drop by; those confined, who already feel forgotten, face terrible daily loneliness and desolation.

If anything good has come out of the pandemic, it’s that more and more people truly understand just how lonely and isolated those confined to a care facility can become.  People who are a little down or

sad can safely  arrange to meet a friend or go for a walk.  Those confined by illness can’t even do these simple things to raise their spirits. That’s where the Power of Flowers Project comes in.  Since the inception of our organization, the volunteers have been empathetic toward those they served.  Now that folks have been isolated themselves, they understand just how debilitating life can be for people in care facilities.

Here’s an Easy and Fun Way You Can Help:

Attend the 6th Annual Spread the Joy Luncheon

Save the date, Wednesday, October 7, 2020, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM.

We have restructured this popular fundraising event, taking into consideration the “new normal”, which makes the health and well being of attendees a priority.

The Luncheon will be held outdoors this year at the Four Oaks Country Club, 80 Meadow Creek Drive, Dracut, MA, a gorgeous venue with breathtaking views.

Please join us on October 7 when we gather safely to celebrate our commitment to the mission of Sharing Hope and Happiness. Through your support of the POFP, you can help us “rescue” those in need of a smile.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
