Making a difference one flower at a time.

“Families have been asking us for a long time if we could donate the flowers rather than have them go to waste, but frankly they look too much like funeral pieces for nursing homes to want them. We never had a solution to that until the Power of Flowers Project came along.”

“I just wanted to tell you how touched I was to see the beautiful bouquet that accompanied my Dad’s Meals on Wheels delivery earlier this week. Dad was just informed that there is nothing more that can be done to treat his cancer…As you can imagine, it’s a difficult time for our family, but your generosity offered a bit of encouragement. I’ve posted a pic of his bouquet on my Facebook page and encouraged friends to support a local business that supports our elders (and others who are homebound) What goes around comes around & I hope you reap the bounty of your kindness.”

“Our homeless mothers were thrilled when (the Project) delivered the flowers. It brightened our hearts and our surroundings for days to come.”

“People perk right up when they realize the arrangement is for them. There is so little room to keep personal things with you in a nursing home that it means so much to them to have beautiful flowers right there on their tray.”

“The gift of each resident receiving an individual arrangement was breathtaking for them…(our residents) often drop between the cracks of attention because they are old, not sick or infirm, just old and unable to live independently.”

“Our deepest appreciation for your donation of floral arrangements for our residents. They were so happy to receive them and enjoyed them on their tables in the dining room and all around the house. We are now thinking ‘spring’!”

VETERANS DAY DELIVERIES

Greetings,

My Name is Bob Desrosiers I am the Commander of The Tyngsborough American Legion and would like to thank you for the flowers that were sent to the post for our Veterans dinner.

As you may or may not know we, The Legion members, Members of the Auxiliary Unit #247, The AMVETS Post #247, Sons of The American Legion #247 along with many volunteers have been feeding our Veterans from around the community and from the VA in Bedford for over 45 years every first Wed of the month. We try to bring a smile to their faces and allow them to enjoy a home cooked meal away from the homes and hospital. The flowers were a big part of doing just that.

This past Wed when they entered the post you could see them smile at the setup of flowers on the tables. So I, on behalf of all Veterans, The American Legion, The Auxiliary Unit, AMVETS, and the Sons of the Legion, Thank you for all you do with your great project to help others feel good and brighten their day and the day of many.

Thank you and God Bless

Bob Desrosiers, Commander Post #247 For The American Legion #247, The Auxiliary Unit #247, The Amvets #247, and The Sons of the Legion #247 Tyngsborough, Mass.

“Thank you not only for the flowers, but for your unselfishness. Our homebound clients absolutely loved them; we have gotten so many compliments that I wanted to pass them on to you. Your time & effort are very much appreciated.”

“Memorial Day 2012 my husband Bob and I delivered 60 arrangements to the Bedford VA Hospital. The minute we encountered people at the hospital, whether it be the receptionist at the entrance desk, nurses in the hospital and of course veterans, we could feel the joy and happiness we were bringing to all of these people.

All they could say was thank you over and over. We responded with a thank you of our own to all these people and what they have done for us throughout the years. We can never repay them for what they have given up to maintain our freedoms.

Being able to enrich their lives in such a small way that means so much to them is all that Bob and I needed or wanted.”
