Monday morning, November 11, Veterans Day, the annual Veterans’ Breakfast was held at the Dracut Council on Aging. One hundred and eight veterans and their spouses were served a wonderful meal.
The room was nicely decorated with banners, balloons, flags, brightly colored tables, streamers, and the pièce de résistance beautiful flowers courtesy of The Power of Flowers Project.
The lovely bouquets were handed out to attendees as they left the breakfast by Michelle Silveira, Executive Director of the Power of Flowers Project, and Matt Durkin of the Durkin Foundation and POFP supporter. Michelle and Matt thanked the veterans for their service to their country as they gave them their bouquets.
The group loved the bouquets; I think Michelle and Matt enjoyed presenting the arrangements as much as the group enjoyed receiving them. Michelle and Matt made lots of friends as they chatted with the attendees.
On behalf of the POFP, we all wholeheartedly thank all Veterans for their service and hope they enjoyed their Veterans’ Day. It truly is the “land of the free, because of the brave.”
Below are some more pictures and some of the comments we received about the Power of Flowers participation in the Veterans Breakfast.
