The Power of Flowers Project is the very proud recipient of Parlee Farms 2017 Conscience Fund.
Every year, the folks at Parlee Farms place contribution buckets at checkout registers at their Farmstand. At the end of the growing year, Mark and Ellen Parlee match up to 10% of the contributions which they then donate to a deserving charity in the area.
They chose the Power of Flowers Project in 2017 because they “love the generous spirit of [POFP] spreading joy through flowers to others.” We were so very grateful to accept the Parlee Farm Conscience Fund check in the amount of $4,200!
In April, 2018, Ellen Parlee joined us in our workshop to see us in action. We were so happy to show her around, have her make one of our signature bouquets, and tell her more about various other aspects of the POFP organization.
In 1987, Parlee Farms in Tyngsborough, MA opened their business with strawberries as their first crop. Since then, they’ve expanded their offerings to include apples, blueberries, cherries, cut flowers, peaches, and pumpkins as well as strawberries. When in season, you can go into the fields and pick your own fruits and flowers. Their Farmstand also sells fresh locally grown produce as well as their own fresh produce.
Blueberries for Picking at Parlee Farms
There’s lots to do during a trip to the Farm? animals to see; shopping for freshly baked pastries, jams, honey; and watching them make the donuts. Mmmm. Donuts.
Checkout their website at www.parleefarms.com or Like them on Facebook. Find out what’s available in the fields for picking and in the Farmstand.
So, if you’re in the area, stop by, say Hi and thank them on behalf of the Power of Flowers Project.
