Of course, there will be plenty of Plants: annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs; but we’ve got lots of other goodies in store? some for purchase at the Garden Whimsy Table and some that will be raffled off to the lucky winners. Here’s a short preview of some of the items that will be available.
At the Garden Whimsy Table there’s a beautiful Stainless Steel Garden Gazing Ball you can nestle among the flowers to reflect your gorgeous garden when it’s finished. Unlike other gazing balls, it’s unbreakable!
This delightful chair you can use either as a planter in your garden or in your home. It was hand painted and donated by POFP volunteer Rita B. We have other child size chairs that were hand painted and donated by POFP volunteers.
What is a garden without a bird feeder? This cast birdfeeder mounts on a wall or fence or tree and depicts the sun, moon, and stars and comes with a large bag of seed to attract birds from all over.
A colorful slate plaque with a glorious rooster was hand-painted by Tom D., the husband of a volunteer and co-chair of the Plant Sale Committee. Tom also donated several other hand painted items that can be used to decorate your garden or your home.
For example: These decorative painted wooden spoons
or these large plaques with whimsical sayings
An antique lawn sprinkler would add interest to any garden, and this one goes back to at least the early 1940s? and it still works!
This is only a partial list of items you will find on the Garden Wimsey Table. There will also be beautiful hand-crafted greeting cards, a Greek-Roman Head Wall Planter, small succulent gardens, and many other garden-themed items.
Several wondrous things will be raffled off, such as a lovely quilted tote made and donated by a POFP volunteer Mary Tess G. The tote is filled with toiletries perfect for pampering yourself after you finish gardening for the day.
There’s also a wonderful quilt, handmade by Linda Matte a friend of POFP. It is 69″ x 88″, just right for taking a little snooze after gardening.
In addition, there will be gift cards and other useful items in the raffle.
And, don’t forget to bring your dull gardening gardening tools (such as shears, clipper blades, scissors) and other household items (such as serrated knives and cleavers) to be sharpened by National Sharpening Company of Andover for a fee.
The months of May and June are filled with occasions for gift giving: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Showers, Weddings, Graduations, etc. We’re sure you’ll find just the perfect gift at our Plant Sale, have a load of fun, and help us Spread the Joy One Flower at a Time.
See you there!
