Each week this blog will feature an in-depth look at some Silent Auction items that will be available during the Spread the Joy Luncheon on Wednesday, October 18, at the Tewksbury Country Club.
First Up is a beautiful, original Tree of Life painting on authentic, hand-made Sandallia papyrus from Aswan, Egypt.
Original Painting of The Tree of Life on Authentic Papyrus
The 11″ x 14″ glass-framed painting depicts several colorful birds in various shades of blue, red, and gold on green branches of the tree. Authentic papyrus is opaque, thus this piece is framed on both sides in glass.
Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient Egypt as a writing surface. It is made from the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, which is a member of the sedge family that grows wild in the marshes of the Nile Delta
This stunning piece was purchased by a POF volunteer in Egypt and brought back for the Silent Auction. It has to be seen in person to truly appreciate its beauty, so be sure to check it out at the Luncheon.
