In the weeks to come, we’ll be featuring an in-depth look at some Silent Auction items that will be available during the Spread the Joy Luncheon on Wednesday, October 18.
This week’s item is a stunning, elegant stole hand-knit from green bamboo fiber in the Forest Path Lace pattern.
With a finished size of approximately 33″ x 64″ it is a perfect trans-seasonal garment.
The luxurious bamboo fiber in pale moss-green (or sage) gives a lovely drape and sheen. The stole is hand-washable and requires no special blocking – just lay it flat to dry.
The Forest Path Stole pattern, designed by Faina Letoutchaia, combines knit entrelac techniques with variations on lace stitch patterns. Each of the three lace patterns – fern, birch leaves, and lily of the valley – were inspired by a springtime walk in the forest.
This gorgeous garment was knit and donated to the Silent Auction by a POF volunteer. A veteran knitter (learning to knit while a Girl Scout), she has donated her wonderful handiwork to the last two auctions: A Begonia Swirl Shawl with beads (2016) and an Icarus Shawl also with beads (2015).
With its intricate design and delicate color, this piece is not accurately presented by our pictures — they don’t do it justice. Stop by the Silent Auction tables to see this lovely stole up close and personal.
See you on the 18th and Happy Bidding!
