In the weeks to come, we’ll be featuring an in-depth look at some Silent Auction items that will be available during the Spread the Joy Luncheon on Wednesday, October 17.
Handmade Queen Size Cityscape and Country Garden Quilt – Front
This week we’re featuring a gorgeous handmade quilt in the “Skyline Reflected ” design on the front and a stunning floral pattern on the back. It’s like getting two quilts in one!
Handmade Queen Size Cityscape and Country Garden Quilt – Back
The Cityscape and Country Garden Quilt was handmade and donated by a generous Power of Flowers volunteer. She says:
?Cityscape and Country Garden? is a unique queen-size quilt that is double-sided. On one side, a rainbow of 40 colors dramatically rise and fall from the horizon on a stark white background. Turn the quilt over and you have the profusion of a cottage garden growing the length of the quilt.”
It is washable cotton and measures 82″ X 100″ large enough to fit a Queen sized bed.
As a veteran quilter (quilting for 25 years), she has made many quilts for her family, friends, and favorite charities — from miniatures to king-size, pieced to applique — and her focus is “always on how color/pattern/design come together.” She gives away a dozen or so “charity” quilts a year.
The quilt’s rich, colorful design is like an abstract reflection of a city on the front and a country garden on the back with wonderful vibrant colors– The best of two worlds. Perfect for any color scheme or d?cor. It’s another of our auction items that has to be seen to be truly appreciated. Drop by the Silent Auction table for a closer look.
Valued at $1,500, this lovely item will surely become a family heirloom.
See you on the 17th and Happy Bidding!
