On a glorious day in June, The Second Annual Power of Flowers Volunteer Appreciation Brunch was held at the beautiful Tewksbury Country Club. The happy sounds of happy volunteers and staff enjoying their meals and each others’ company resounded from the rough-hewn rafters of the room. Suddenly, a hush fell over the crowd. Joyce B. introduced Kali W… it was time to announce the Winner of the Coveted 3rd Pink Apron Award.
To a huge round of applause, Liz J. was announced as the winner. Liz is the Executive Assistant of the Power of Flowers Project and a part-time volunteer herself. The personalized pink apron is presented to the person who demonstrates outstanding dedication, generosity, and efforts in carrying out the mission of the POF project. Selected by volunteers via secret ballot, Liz emerged victorious in what was a tight race.
Some of the comments voters gave in support of Liz as their choice were:
? Her can-do attitude is contagious.
? Her energy levels are outstanding.
? She’s one of my favorite Energizer Bunnies!
? Always helpful and willing and patient and happy, despite crazy hectic days!!
? Hands down all around get done girl.
? She goes “above & beyond” being a great volunteer.
Liz, Congratulations on your well-deserved award! You are terrific! We all thank you for all you do… We’d be lost without you.
